Bawal and pork...

Posted by scratchpaper at 01:26 PM on August 21, 2008 in .

I saw a lot of interesting things along the way while walking to work.

Most of them were the usual stuff I pick on and criticize.

It's just that...

I forgot.

I am officially the fail!!!

ooohh.. I remembered one thing.

Have you noticed the yellow banners that hang on the posts along Ayala Ave. that says I am Ninoy?

Is it just me, or did the combination of all those face portions make the person in the poster look like Elijah wood in Ninoy Aquino glasses?

Tell me, is it just me? Do you see it too? weh. OA na sa pagtatanong.

By the way, just some update.. my glasses broke.

Pakshet!

Now I no longer have a mask to use to hide my never-going-away-ever eyebags.

Again, pakshet!

Anywho, I should start working.

And yeah, one last thing. My cellphone decided it wanted to stay home so I don't have it with me now. anudaw?

Whattagenius!

Look! Monkey!

Posted by scratchpaper at 01:02 PM on August 19, 2008 in .

... are Japanese words.

... are just two letters different.

Kire means anger, kirai means hate.

Right now I just feel to effin' angry, depressed, hurtful, and hateful that I don't think i'd be able to be as productive as I should be.

Yes. I'm emo. Bite me.

Right now everything just feels so wrong.

Hopefully, this too shall pass.

Bago ko isara tong entry na to...

Wishing...

Haha. Ayus yun.

While Walking To Work...

Posted by scratchpaper at 10:25 AM on August 15, 2008 in .

I went past a taxi driver collecting puddle water in an empty mineral water can. He was using the puddle water to cool down his car.

Isn't that bad for your engine?

I stood behind a woman wearing a white tank top underneath a yellow tube top. She had massive cellulites on her arms.

Aren't we supposed to be hiding cellulites?

I came across a girl who wore a scarf in such a way that it looked like she had no neck. She reminded me of a matryoshka doll.

Is that a good thing?

I see so many things...

I Found Myself on Google

Posted by scratchpaper at 03:02 PM on August 13, 2008 in .

Yes. Vain as it may sound, I googled my own name. Some of the results were expected, some were surprising, and some were downright hilarious.

On the first page, I saw my multiply page, my facebook account, and my friendster page. Typical.

On the second page, I found some of the articles we submitted at work, published at some websites. This included having some of my articles published at TripleXarticles.com. Guess what? One article was categorized under porn. The topic was about hormonal birth control methods. C'mon?!

So I peer over to the third page, wondering what other things I can find about my name. Then I found this:

"Abbey Grace Yap is a metabolic mug of strategy consciousness."

Huwaaaattt??

Fun, pain, chores.

Posted by scratchpaper at 11:05 AM on August 13, 2008 in .

Last Saturday was fun.

Obi and I went swimming with Jon, Mahal, and Martin at the old Army-Navy compound near Quirino Grandstand. The place that houses the pool is now called the Seafood Wharf and Restaurant.

Honestly, I didn't know how to swim. And to tell you the truth, I'm scared of swimming anywhere beyond 5 ft. I don't know, I just panic when I get to water that is way over my height. Stupid, yeah?

Anywho. The pool was nice. The water was clean. Nobody was swimming. Well, there were two elderly people hanging out near the 4 ft. end of the pool. There was this old lady that went around the pool, hanging onto the pool side, singing kundiman songs while neck deep in water.

Well, what did I learn last Saturday? That I can't do 'langoy aso' if my life depended on it? I just can't seem to lift my tail bone without actually pushing my face into the water. Grabe.

What else? I can float face up now. Yay! I gotta thank Obi for that. (Love you, bi.)

Anything else? Oh yeah, Obi says my natural swimming style is somewhat similar to the breast stroke. No pun intended, being chesty and all. I just gotta be mindful of movements and the breathing. I can't seem to get enough air in everytime I lift my head for a breath. I end up sort of panicing because of the thought that I am short on air.

Gah! I need to get over that fear.

Anywho, Mahal and Obi were both teaching me how to properly kick to proper myself in the water. However, I have problems because as Obi had noticed, my right leg is stronger than my left leg, which sort of makes me roll to the right instead of go straight forward. Also, my right arm seems stronger than my left, which makes me turn to the right when i try to paddle my way forward.

What can I say, I'm a rightie? Haha.

Well, right after swimming, we went to Binondo to meet up with Inigo. We had late lunch at Tasty Dumplings just beside the church. Mahal, Inigo, Martin, Obi, and I ordered their famous porkchop rice. I added a plate of fried dumplings. Mahal and Inigo had a side order of kutchay dumplings. Jon had noodles and some vegetable I could not remember. Mahal, Inigo, Jon, and Martin all had milk tea, Obi had iced tea, and I opted for tap water.

Oh yeah, I had extra rice. I was so hungry.

Well, after feasting at Tasty Dumplings, it was off to Rizal for me and Obi. At first, I thought that everything had already been cancelled on account of miscommunication. Paolo didn't push through with our plans, texting Edi, Me, and my cousin Cherry that they're cancelling. Edi thought we weren't going anymore. It's a good thing I texted or else we would have gotten there way early. After much texting and some calls, we finally ironed stuff out and pushed through with the plan.

We hung out at Edi's house.

It was a quaint but well arranged house. The lighting was something you could use to set up the mood for a little.. y'know. Haha. We ate Payless sweet & spicy barbeque flavored pancit canton. It tasted good. We also had pizza for dinner. And they drank Red Horse while watching American Pie: The Beta House.

This movie was really funny, but a bit sleazy. Edi wasn't kidding when she said that the movie had so many boobs. But Eugene Levy appeared in the movie too. Haha.

So Sunday came, and my body was aching all over. I gotta thank swimming for that. I popped an Alaxan to get rid of the muscle pain, and started on with house chores. First on the list - laundry. Hand washed the clothes and put it on the washing machine for the rinsing and the spin drying. Next on the list - grocery. Spent a good 1010Php on crackers, soap, fabric softener, vegetables, chicken, bread, and Yakult (that apparently expired the Friday before I did my grocery). Had dinner, washed the dishes. After I was done with everything, I started with the ironing. At least now I can iron my clothes after I wash them.

Would you believe that for the first two months that I have lived in Wacky's house, my clothes went straight from the hanger to the closet. I never ironed. Haha.

This is getting to be a very long and boring blog entry. I'm at work, I should be starting on my quota. And I think I should be. Just so that I don't come out of the office late.

Anywho, just thought I'd tell you what I've been up to during the weekend.

This Saturday, we'll be swimming again. This time, in Valle Verde. Since Obi's a member, he can come in free. However, us guests would have to pay 85 pesos for the pool usage. Not bad, considering that Seafood Wharf and Restaurant charged us 150 pesos for, say, 4 hours of swimming?

Can't wait for Saturday to come.
